NodoSano accessibility statement for our online psychotherapy website serving clients in Canada and Mexico.

What is NODO SANO?

The name draws from the image of a tree. Each node along the trunk and branches is where strength, life, and connection concentrate, allowing nutrients to circulate and support the growth of the whole tree. The word sano (Spanish for "healthy") adds the dimensions of health, wholeness, and restoration.

In psychotherapy, each session functions like a node. It becomes a structured point of connection where mind, body, and emotions align. Through these moments, healthier patterns develop, supporting ongoing growth and more integrated well-being over time.

My Approach

My work is grounded in a humanistic and client-centred philosophy, meaning therapy moves at your pace and focuses on what matters most to you.

Depending on your needs, sessions may integrate approaches such as:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Mindfulness-based practices

  • Family systems perspectives

  • Solution-focused therapy

The goal is not to fit you into a method, but to find what genuinely helps.

The Three Stages of Therapy:
My Collaborative Approach

"The most powerful healing happens when you're truly seen and heard. That's why I've structured my approach around three stages: first, we connect deeply; then, we explore and grow together; finally, you step forward with newfound strength."

Stage 1: Building the Therapeutic Connection & Getting to Know You

"Before we heal, we connect."

What happens in this stage:

Creating Safety: We establish a space where you feel comfortable being yourself, without judgment or pressure.

Understanding Your World: I learn how you think, feel, and act. What patterns have shaped you? What does your daily life look like? Who are the important people around you?

Exploring Your Context: Your environment, relationships, work, family dynamics, cultural background, and identity all matter. Therapy isn't about you in isolation—it's about you in your life.

Building Trust: Through consistent, genuine presence and respect, we develop the therapeutic alliance that makes real change possible.

Stage 2: Identifying Patterns & Collaborative Change

"Let's figure this out together."

What happens in this stage:

Pattern Recognition: Together, we identify recurring themes in your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships. Where do you get stuck? What patterns repeat?

Collaborative Exploration: This is teamwork. I'm not the expert telling you what's wrong; we're partners investigating what's happening and why.

Adapted Techniques: Based on your unique needs, we select and implement evidence-based modalities:Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for thought patterns - Mindfulness practices for emotional regulation - Somatic work for body-based healing - Narrative therapy for reframing your story - Other approaches tailored to you.

Practicing Change: We practice new ways of thinking, feeling, and acting in session, then gradually integrate them into your daily life.

Accountability & Support: I'm here to celebrate your progress and gently challenge you when you're ready to go deeper.

Stage 3: Independence & Integration (or Deeper Work)

"You have the strength within you."

Option A: Moving Toward Independence

Consolidating Gains: We review what you've learned, the changes you've made, and the insights you've gainedBuilding Self-Awareness: You develop the ability to recognize old patterns early and apply tools independently.

Sustainable Practices: We ensure the techniques and mindsets you've developed become part of your daily life.

Gradual Transition: Sessions may space out, and we plan for your continued growth beyond therapy.

Maintaining Progress: You leave therapy with concrete strategies for maintaining and deepening your wellbeing

Option B: Addressing Deeper Roots

Sometimes, as surface patterns resolve, we discover deeper trauma or unresolved pain from the past that's been affecting your present. This might include:

- Childhood experiences that shaped how you relate to yourself and othersUnprocessed grief or loss.

- Attachment patterns rooted in early relationships.

- Trauma (big or small) that's influencing current strugglesIdentity work requiring deeper exploration.

In this case, we continue our collaborative journey, working more slowly and carefully with deeper material. This stage requires patience, trust, and your willingness to explore what lies beneath.
